Sitelogr Pagerank

When I browsed the Net yesterday, I stumbled upon Sitelogr. Sitelogr is a free lookup service providing information about websites on the Net. It claims to have information of every sites on the Web. It gathers data in real-time from various sources, to be compiled into a best-estimate of a particular website. For example, the information for version 3.0 would be like this.

There’s no traffic info unfortunately, since it ranks too low. Fortunately, there is Google Analytics for that purpose.

As an added benefit, I’ve added Sitelogr Pagerank button to Links. It is based on Google Pagerank, an algorithm that calculates “page value” by means of “link structures” of the Web itself. So far, the result is satisfactory, but what’s exactly the input for the algorithm?

Blogarama

A new button has been added to Links. That of Blogarama’s. Blogarama is a free directory service. It is one of the older and more popular blog listing services out there. Since indrayudha Blogspot has used the service, might as well version 3.0 uses it and gets the exposure. As of today, there are 167,565 blogs listed in Blogarama.

It uses score and ranking system. The more incoming traffic from version 3.0 to Blogarama, and the more outgoing traffic from Blogarama to version 3.0, the higher the score and the ranking. So, help me out here, guys.. click, click

I finally give a name to that unnamed part of the sidebar where and Brazen Careerist buttons reside. That part is named Links. It is similar to yet unrevealed Blogroll. Links served more like a card-carrying list of identities. Where parts of my scattered interests and existence lie across the Net. It is somewhat similar to Social Media widget on the footer area but with a wider scope.

Creative Commons

Since I’ve decided to make version 3.0 a fully functioning blog, I’ve also decided to license it under Creative Commons just like my other writings. Creative Commons (CC) license uses plain English, with jurisdiction of copyright law accorded with the copyright law of the United States, as I’ve chosen it. I think CC license is an easy and convenient way to apply intellectual property law for the masses.

Here’s the complete version of the legal code which indrayudha.net falls under. In short, you are free to share and adapt contents of indrayudha.net provided that you attribute your source of work to me, do it for non-commercial purposes, and share-alike your work under the same CC license.

Geek!

I have swapped listing with since I wrote in my Blogspot. as the website claimed, is a web clique to unite all geeks the world over. It was opened on 21 June 2002.

There are no particular needs to associate myself with the clique, other than self-identification with the “geek culture”. I consider myself to be geek because I like science-fiction genre, I read superhero comics, and I use gadgets in daily life. Plus I write version 3.0 among other things. So, that’s enough to qualify me as a card-carrying geek.

I guess geek is an old term, but recently in the 2000s it got its own street cred and cool factor. Nerd is one thing, but geek is certainly another. You can be nerdy, but it you act about it in a such a way, that is difficult to articulate, you can be geeky and that’s cool nowadays.

I have put the button on the side widget. There will be more like it, but I haven’t yet figured out what title I’ll use for them.
